New York Fashion week is one of the biggest week in the entire fashion industry and therefore creating effective marketing campaigns for this week is vital for achieving successful marketing objectives. With revolutionary technology being produced almost every day, introducing that into effective marketing campaigns is important to stay on trend and exploit the opportunities it produces.

A great example of this was seen by Charlotte Tilbury in 2016 in NYFW introducing their own virtual reality ad starring fashion icon Kate Moss with a collaboration with Samsung. The perfume brand targeted the fashion week with this ad using fashion’s biggest star as the main focal point. The power of the technology took consumers to a new world with the ad dancing with the star on Orion’s belt with Kate Moss engaging with the audience in a brand-new way used never before. The technology used within the ad really stood out in the fashion week and really showed an insight of how digital communications within the industry have almost limitless opportunities. The celebrity endorsement strengthened the VR ad bringing audiences closer to the celeb than ever before and therefore amplifying the effect the celebrity had on consumers buying behaviour. Feel free to have a look at the VR ad, a format which may quickly turn into the norm over a few years.

It is great to see how launches like this may take the lead of how effective advertising will be in the future.
